Utilimaster has worked with electric vehicles and chassis for more than 5 years, both engineering and integrating bodies on electric chassis, as well as completing over 1,000 chassis conversions.

Utilimaster is proud to partner with Smith Electric to offer the all-electric, zero-emission Newton Step Van, a fully integrated walk-in van designed on the innovative Smith Newton chassis platform. Available in configurations of 14,000 to 26,000 pounds GVWR, the Newton Step Van provides a distance range of approximately 100 miles on a single charge, making it an optimal vehicle selection for inner city routes. Smith Electric has successfully deployed hundreds of commercial vehicles into fleet operations around the world, including PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay division, Staples and Coca-Cola.
